“you’ll never forget to turn off the oven…if you never turn it on”

Since my oven has been out of commission for the past 2 weeks, while we wait on a new part, certain meal choices have been limited. Thankfully, I still have my stovetop and my trusty crockpot to whip up some delicious dinners! This recipe was quick, simple, and full of flavor! My hubby added it to the list of “recipe repeats” as he was heading back for thirds!! Bon Appetit!

1 pound hamburger or Italian sausage
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced (or garlic salt)
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. Oregano
1 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
A drizzle of Italian salad dressing
Shredded mozzarella or Italian cheeses
Salt and Pepper to taste
10-12 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces and boiled
Jar of your favorite marinara sauce or
Homemade marinara sauce

Cook broken up pasta according to directions. In a large skillet, cook hamburger with onion, garlic, basil, and oregano until cooked through. Add marinara sauce, dried parsley, red pepper flakes, and a drizzle of Italian dressing to the skillet. Cover, stir and simmer. Once noodles are cooked through, drain and toss into the skillet, stir until well combined. Add shredded cheeses and pepper to the skillet. Allow to simmer until cheeses are melted. Serve with breadsticks and a salad. Enjoy! šŸ™‚
