“No, I do NOT think it’s time to get dinner started”

It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy delicious, filling food. I love summer, but I must say, I absolutely love Fall! Gorgeous weather, colorful leaves, baking goodies, and football!!
This chili recipe is a big hit!! It’s tasty and simple. We love to cook a big pot and have our fellow football friends over to enjoy the game and the food!! Jason’s Grandma recently tried it and said it was the best chili she’s ever had in her life!! Coming from a woman who has cooked her whole life, that is one major compliment!!! 🙂

Chili:
1 large can of Tomato Sauce (1lb)
2 cans of Chili ready beans
1 can of Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
1 small can Tomato Paste
Chili Powder to taste (I use a couple tablespoons)
S&P to taste plus any other spices you enjoy (I use some basil, rosemary, oregano, thyme, and a little nutmeg, just a few shakes of each)
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 lb. Ground Sausage
1 yellow onion, diced
1 Green Bell Pepper, diced

Dice and finely chop onion and bell pepper. Sauté with beef and sausage until cooked through. Add to large stockpot or crockpot with all remaining ingredients. Simmer on low, stirring frequently. Enjoy!!

(Sorry this isn’t the best picture, but a large pot full of chili + my hubby + our friends = only 1 little Tupperware dish left!!) 😉
